Nani was on his way home after leaving a United training session at Carrington on Friday when the accident occurred in Gatley. The Manchester Evening News reported that Nani was in a dazed state as he was led away from the crash site and that the police officer was suspended from driving duties. The police report stated that both vehicles received minor damage as well as the occupants of both cars.

One bystander reported that the Bentley was a bit bashed up in its front and that Nani, in full United training gear, looked a bit shocked. Nani is expected to be fit for United's FA Cup match against Reading on Monday.
