Manchester United has confirmed the signing of Crystal Palace player Wilfried Zaha. The England international will join the Red Devils in the summer, while he spends the rest of the season on loan with his current club.
Zaha is considered one of the brightest young talents in English football and has played a vital part of Palace's push to be promoted into the Premier League next season. The Daily Mail has reported that Zaha has signed a five and a half year deal with Palace receiving £15 million. The player himself is set to earn £35,000 a week with pay rises over the course of his contract.
Speaking on Palace's official website, Zaha said, "I am delighted to be joining Manchester United and ending the recent speculation. I would like to thank the owners at Palace for making the move possible, however my focus for the next five months will be solely at Crystal Palace. I have been at Palace for more than 10 years, I will always love the club and I want to help get them back to the Premier League, particularly for the fans who have always been so good to me."
Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted and excited about the Zaha signing praising the potential that Zaha has and pointing to the success United have had with other young players such as Chris Smalling, Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck and Phil Jones. United pride themselves on being able to recognize young talent and then develop them into world-class players.
