Manchester United have returned to England after spending a week training in Qatar. The players and coaches were able to use the renowned Aspire Academy training center and its facilities to enjoy training in a fairer weather atmosphere.
Shortly after United's draw with Tottenham on Sunday, the Red Devils left the cold and snow of England and headed to the warmth and sun of Qatar. The players and managers highly enjoyed their time in Qatar and could not speak highly enough of the training facilities at the Aspire Academy. Training in the warm weather and sun could be very beneficial at this time of year especially for players who may be carrying slight knocks. Players Nemanja Vidic and Ryan Giggs were full of praise for the warm weather and the training facilities.
"It's been excellent since we've been here," Vidic said. "The weather has been nice and the facilities have also been fantastic. Working in the sun has been a nice change, especially with the weather in Manchester at this time of year. We were here three years ago and on both occasions we have had great trips."
As Vidic pointed out, it is not the first time United have traveled to Qatar to escape the wintry weather in Manchester. The weather and sun is not the only benefit as Sir Alex Ferguson can also take his team out of the media spotlight for a week that is always present in England. The players had time to enjoy themselves and recuperate in preparation for the rest of the season.Tags: Aspire Academy, Manchester, Manchester United, Nemanja Vidic, Premier League, Qatar, Sir Alex Ferguson, Soccer
