Sir Alex Ferguson will name a strong squad for the FA Cup replay against West Ham on Wednesday which will include Wayne Rooney and Nani. Manchester United managed a late draw against the Hammers thanks to a superb goal by Robin van Persie which forced the replay to take place at Old Trafford.
The Scot confirmed that Chicharito and Antonio Valencia will round out the attack and is confident that the line-up he puts out will be strong enough to book a place into the next round of the competition. The news that Rooney and Nani are both fit again will come as great news for United who also have a tough game away at Tottenham to contend with on Sunday.
Speaking to MUTV, Ferguson confirmed Rooney and Nani will play, "Both [Rooney and Nani] will play. Both are fit. [There's] Chicha and Antonio, we've got a strong squad, you know. There won't be may changes really. Wayne coming back is good news. He's been training for a week and looking good. As for Nani, he came back from his spell abroad [having a break in Dubai] and is really looking very good. So I'm fine and will play a strong team."
The tie will most likely come too soon for defender Jonny Evans although Ferguson admitted he could potentially use the Northern Irishman. Evans has a hamstring complaint and Ferguson will probably not risk him until the weekend against Tottenham.
Ferguson, who has not lifted the FA Cup since 2004, has often insisted that the competition is important to him and the club and his willingness to deny van Persie a complete rest, thrusting him into the action at Upton Park to grab a goal proves that. Ferguson believes that United are due a good cup run and many would love to see the Red Devils lift the trophy again after some painful losses in the final in recent history. Should United defeat West Ham on Wednesday, they will play either Blackpool or Fulham at Old Trafford.Tags: Antonio Valencia, FA Cup, Manchester, Manchester United, Nani, Premier League, Sir Alex Ferguson, Soccer, Wayne Rooney, West Ham
