Manchester United legend Denis Law will have a new job with the club as an official ambassador. Law will join Sir Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson, Gary Neville, Peter Schmeichel and Andrew Cole in this role.
Manutd.com reports Law will attend various events and functions on behalf of the Red Devils to promote work within the community and with its many partnerships. The club ambassador role is a big honor for past players who reserve a special place in most fan's hearts.
"I'm delighted and honored," Law said. "The club has changed a lot since my day, but the support and passion of the fans has remained the same and I'm looking forward to meeting them as part of my new role."
Law is considered by many to be one of United's best ever players signing with the Red Devils in 1962. Law was named European player of the year (the first United player to do so) while representing United. He also won two league championships and helped United reach the 1968 European Cup final. Chief executive David Gill is delighted that Law will be joining the club in an ambassadorial role and looks forward to working with him.
