Manchester United summer signing Shinji Kagawa is facing another four weeks out due to a knee injury. The Japanese international picked up a twisted knee in United's Champions League match against Braga at Old Trafford.
The news will come as a bad blow to both Kagawa and United as initial reports regarding the injury were optimistic. Sir Alex Ferguson expected Kagawa to be back around this time but the Red Devils are now reporting that the midfielder will miss up to another four weeks. Ferguson gave an update on Kagawa while speaking at his press conference ahead of the Champions League match against Galatasaray.
"His progress has been quite slow actually," Ferguson said. "He hasn't started any outside work and, looking now, he may be another four weeks away."
Kagawa has impressed since making his way to Old Trafford from German club Borussia Dortmund and looked to be forming a formidable attack with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney. The earliest United can expect Kagawa back is during the congested Christmas period but even that may be too soon for the midfielder.Tags: Manchester, Manchester United, Old Trafford, Premier League, Robin van Persie, Shinji Kagawa, Sir Alex Ferguson, Soccer, Wayne Rooney
